Payment Terms

Pathshala OS is a subscription service operated by Pathshala Inc. (United States) in partnership with Heer Eduverse Private Limited (India) — both doing business as Pathshala. This page explains how payments are collected, what methods are accepted, and how billing works. The binding contract governing your subscription is the Master Services Agreement; these Payment Terms provide a customer-friendly summary.

We use two payment processors depending on your region:

• Stripe, Inc. for customers in the United States and internationally (outside India).
• Razorpay Software Private Limited for customers in India.

United States & International (via Stripe)

• Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover
• Google Pay, Apple Pay
• ACH direct debit (where available)

India (via Razorpay)

• UPI (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM, and all UPI-enabled apps)
• Credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, RuPay)
• Net banking (all major Indian banks)
• Mobile wallets (Paytm, PhonePe, Amazon Pay, and others supported by Razorpay)

Payment methods may vary by plan type. The checkout page will display all methods available for your transaction.

Prices are displayed and charged in one of two currencies based on your detected locale:

• USD ($) — for customers outside India. Charged via Stripe.
• INR (₹) — for customers in India. Charged via Razorpay.

Currency is auto-detected by your browser timezone and locale. You cannot manually switch between currencies. All charges appear on your statement in the currency shown at checkout.

Pathshala OS offers two billing cycles:

• Monthly — billed every 30 days from the date of your initial subscription.
• Annual — billed as a single upfront charge covering 12 months.

All paid subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period at the then-current published rate for your plan tier. We will send a renewal reminder email at least seven (7) days before each renewal charge.

Annual savings are reflected in the pricing displayed on the pricing page.

You can cancel auto-renewal at any time from Dashboard → Account → Billing. When you cancel:

• You retain full access until the end of the current billing period.
• No further charges are made after the current period ends.
• Your data is retained per our data-retention policy.
• You can reactivate your subscription at any time.

We do not pro-rate refunds for unused time. See our Refund Policy for refund eligibility.

If a scheduled charge fails (expired card, insufficient funds, bank decline, or processor error), we will:

• Notify the Institute owner and billing contact by email immediately.
• Retry the charge according to the processor's standard retry schedule.
• Keep the Service running during a 72-hour grace period.

If the payment is not resolved within 72 hours, we may downgrade the subscription to the Free Tier. See MSA §5 for full details. No data is deleted during a downgrade.

Both Stripe and Razorpay are PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment processors — the highest level of security certification in the payments industry.

• Pathshala never stores your full card number, CVV, UPI PIN, or net-banking credentials.
• Card and UPI data is collected directly by Stripe or Razorpay on their secure pages.
• We store only non-sensitive identifiers (e.g., last 4 digits of a card, Stripe/Razorpay customer ID, invoice records) for billing administration.

For recurring subscriptions paid via Razorpay, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) requires additional safeguards for automatic recurring debits:

• You will be asked to register an e-mandate (standing instruction) with your bank or UPI app when you first subscribe.
• Before each renewal, you will receive a pre-debit notification at least 24 hours in advance with the amount and date.
• For charges exceeding ₹15,000, your bank may require additional authentication (AFA) per RBI guidelines.
• You can revoke your e-mandate at any time through your bank or UPI app, which will cancel auto-renewal.

• India: Goods and Services Tax (GST) at the applicable rate (currently 18% for SaaS services) is included in the displayed price or added at checkout as required by law. A GST-compliant invoice is generated for every transaction.
• United States: Sales tax is collected where required by state or local law and calculated by Stripe Tax based on your billing address.
• Other regions: VAT, GST, or other applicable indirect taxes may be added at checkout based on your billing address.

Taxes are remitted to the relevant tax authorities by Pathshala and are not refundable.
