What is a session?
A session is a scheduled live class or 1:1 meeting between a tutor and one or more students. Sessions can be booked by students, created by tutors, or scheduled by admins.
Sessions need the Session Scheduling module enabled. If you don’t see Sessions in your menu, ask your institute admin.
Your tutor dashboard
Dashboard → Dashboard (home) shows:
- Upcoming schedule — your next classes
- Availability & bookings — calendar to create sessions
- Sessions card with tabs: Upcoming, Requests, Rejected
Handle booking requests
When a student requests a session with you:
- Go to Dashboard → Sessions → Requests tab
- Review the date, time, and subject
- Click Accept to confirm, or Decline to reject (the student is notified)
After acceptance, status changes to Booked. See Session approval and booking for the full flow.
Create a session yourself
Two ways:
From your dashboard calendar
- Availability & bookings → pick a date/time
- Select the student(s) to invite
- Add subject and notes → save
From Sessions page
- Dashboard → Sessions → Schedule session
- Search and select invitees (students, tutors, or admins)
- Set date, start time, end time, subject, notes
- Click Send invite
View and filter sessions
Dashboard → Sessions
Filter by: All, Pending, Booked, Live, Ended, Completed, Cancelled
Click any row to open the session detail page — notes, documents, recordings, and join controls live there.
Before class starts
- Check the session detail page for time and participants
- At the scheduled time, click Start Session (only tutors/admins can start)
- Once live, students see Join Session
Full join instructions: Joining a live session and Live classes and recordings.
Rescheduling and cancellations
- Decline pending requests you can’t take — students can book another slot
- For booked sessions, coordinate with the student and create a new session if needed
- Admins can cancel sessions from the Sessions list
Tips for tutors
- Check Requests daily — students wait for your Accept
- Start the session on time — students can’t join until you click Start Session
- Add session notes after class for your own records
- Recordings appear automatically if recording is enabled for your institute
