Starting a live class
- Open the session from Dashboard → Sessions or your upcoming schedule widget
- At class time, click Start Session
- Allow camera and microphone when your browser asks
- Wait for students — they click Join Session once you’ve started
Only the tutor (or admin) can start a session. Students cannot join until it’s live.
During the class
Video controls
- Turn camera and microphone on/off
- Share your screen to show slides or documents
- See all participants in the video room
Whiteboard
- Click the pencil icon on the session page to open the whiteboard panel
- Two boards are available — use either to draw, write, and explain
- Students see the same board in real time (collaborative)
- When you end the session, whiteboard snapshots save to Documents automatically
Session tools
- Notes — private or shared notes for the session
- Documents — files attached to this class
- Q&A / Comments — student questions (you can toggle visibility in Session Settings)
Ending the class
- Click End session when finished
- The video room closes for everyone
- Status changes to Completed
- Whiteboard content is saved to documents
If you need to re-enter within the same time window, you may see Restart Session.
Recordings
If your institute has recording enabled (Institute plan+):
- Sessions are recorded automatically during live class
- After class, find the recording on the session detail page under Recordings
- Also listed on Dashboard → Recordings and your tutor home under Recent recordings
- Choose visibility — share with enrolled students or keep private until ready
- Students access recordings from Dashboard → Recordings
Recording availability depends on your institute’s plan and module settings. Ask your admin if you don’t see recordings.
Troubleshooting
- Student can’t join — make sure you clicked Start Session and status shows Live
- No camera/mic — check browser permissions; use Chrome or Firefox for best results
- Poor connection — turn off video, use audio only; ask students to do the same
- Whiteboard not syncing — refresh the page; rejoin the session
Best practices
- Join 2–3 minutes early to test audio and video
- Start on time — students get a notification when class is live
- Use the whiteboard for worked examples; students learn better visually
- End the session properly so recordings finalize
