Meeting features & AI tools

1. Live meeting basics

1. Open the session and click Start Session (tutor/admin).
2. Allow camera and microphone when the browser asks.
3. Students click Join Session once status is Live.
4. Use the control bar to mute, stop video, share screen, or record (if enabled).
5. Click End session when finished so recordings and AI analysis can finalize.

2. Side panel tools

• Chat / Q&A — questions without interrupting the call.
• Whiteboard — collaborative drawing (when enabled for your institute).
• Notes — session notes with visibility controls.
• Documents — files attached to this class.
• Participants — who’s in the room and local mic/cam toggles.
• Course — course outline and materials when the session is linked to a course.
• Quiz — mid-session AI or manual quizzes (requires AI Session Quality).

3. Mid-session AI quizzes

Available when AI Session Quality is enabled for your institute (Institute plan+).

Generate and launch

1. Teach for a few minutes so live transcription has content to work with.
2. Open the Quiz tab in the side panel.
3. Click Generate with AI — Pathshala AI drafts MCQs from what was covered so far.
4. Review and edit stems, options, and the correct answer. Or compose questions manually.
5. Set the timer (default 120 seconds) and click Launch quiz.

What students see

• A full-screen overlay over the video with large answer taps.
• A shared countdown from the quiz end time.
• One submit — then “Waiting for results…”
• Late joiners still get the quiz if it’s active and the timer hasn’t ended.

Live results (tutor)

• Poll — bar charts per question update as answers arrive.
• Individual — each student’s choices and score.
• Close — lock the quiz early if everyone has answered.

If you see “AI quiz needs live transcript”, keep teaching a bit longer or check that mic audio is working — quizzes need live transcription running in the background.

4. Live transcription & captions

• Live transcription starts automatically in the background when AI Session Quality is on — it powers AI quiz generation.
• On-screen captions are off by default. Toggle CC on the control bar to show captions under the video.
• Captions are for accessibility; you can leave them off if you only want AI quizzes.

5. After class — recordings & AI insights

After the recording is ready (usually within 10–15 minutes when AI Session Quality is on):

• AI session insights — scores, strengths, improvements, and a short summary on the recording page.
• Searchable transcript — click any line to jump in the video.
• Auto-chapters — click a chapter timestamp to seek.
• Student handout — key points, vocabulary, and practice questions.
• Live quiz summary — included in the insights panel and tutor email (e.g. “8 answered, avg 70%”).

Open recordings from the session page or Dashboard → Recordings.

6. Tips & troubleshooting

• Join a few minutes early to test audio before generating a quiz.
• Prefer Chrome or Firefox; allow camera/mic in the address bar if blocked.
• Poor connection — turn off video; keep teaching so the transcript still builds.
• Quiz tab missing — ask your admin to enable AI Session Quality (and the session quality module).
• No insights after class — wait for the recording to finish processing, then refresh the recording page.
