Institute Payment Setup
Indian institutes — Razorpay Route
Razorpay Route · Linked Account
Status: Razorpay Route is live on the Pathshala platform.
Indian institutes can now set up payment collection from the dashboard.
Overview
For institutes in India, PathshalaOS uses Razorpay Route to collect student fees.
Your institute is onboarded as a Linked Account (sub-merchant). Students pay via UPI, cards, netbanking, and wallets;
Razorpay splits the payment and settles your share to your bank account (typically T+2 business days).
Requirements:
- PathshalaOS Institute plan or above
- Institute country set to India (IN)
- Valid PAN, business details, and Indian bank account
- GSTIN recommended if you are GST-registered
- Institute admin access to your PathshalaOS dashboard
1 Open Payment Setup
- Log in to your institute portal as an Institute Admin.
- Go to Payments → Setup.
- Confirm the gateway shows Razorpay (India).
If you see Stripe instead, your institute country may not be set to India. Update it under Organization / Settings or contact Pathshala support.
2 Submit business details
- Fill in Legal business name (as registered).
- Enter PAN (required) and GSTIN (if applicable).
- Enter registered address, city, state, PIN code, and admin phone.
- Click Submit for Razorpay KYC.
PathshalaOS creates your Razorpay Linked Account and sends your details for verification.
3 Complete Razorpay KYC
- Razorpay reviews your linked account (may request additional documents).
- Provide bank account details when prompted (account number, IFSC).
- Wait for status Activated — usually 1–3 business days.
- Check Payments → Setup in PathshalaOS; status changes to Payments active when ready.
If setup fails with an error, contact Pathshala support — we will coordinate with Razorpay on your behalf.
4 Configure fees (INR)
- Go to Payments → Fees.
- Add fees in Indian Rupees (₹) — amounts are in paise internally (₹1,000 = 100000 paise display logic handled by UI).
- Examples: monthly tuition, batch fee, admission fee.
- Save and ensure fees are marked Active.
5 Students pay
- Students open the course or fee section in the student portal.
- They click Pay and complete payment on Razorpay Checkout (UPI, card, netbanking, etc.).
- Payment is recorded under Payments → Transactions.
- Your share is transferred to your linked account and settled to your bank per Razorpay’s schedule.
6 Settlements, refunds & reports
- Transactions — all student payments with gross, platform fee, and net amounts.
- Settlements — payout history to your bank.
- Refunds — initiate from the dashboard; processed through Razorpay Route.
- Tax report — download summaries for your records (GST reconciliation as applicable).
- Invoices / receipts — view and download student payment records where available.
